HealthyHives Beekeeping Inc. is based in Maple Ridge, BC, Canada and focuses on sustainable solutions for beekeeping.

The foundation of this family business lies in our love for beekeeping and our training as engineers. Managing healthy bees is a challenge in today’s environment of climate change and infestation of parasites and pests from around the world. To survive, honey bees need all the support we can provide. Our ideas and initiatives come from experiences in the apiary, in-depth knowledge of beekeeping and application of practical engineering.

Our mission is to create practical tools that help beekeepers protect their colonies, strengthen their apiaries, and contribute to healthier bee communities. Varroa destructor mites are the most invasive parasite affecting honey bees.

Our first product is the Varroa Destructor Destructor, or VDD, a unit to manage and destroy varroa destructor mites using the hyperthermal method. We started developing the VDD in 2022, have gone through several product iterations and in-depth field trials to verify that the product is effective in killing varroa destructor mites.
