HealthyHives app connection screen

Connect to Your VDD by Bluetooth

On the connection screen, any Varroa Destructor Destructor in Bluetooth range is shown and can be connected to, or disconnected from, by pressing it in the menu.

The currently connected device is identified by the bee with the moving antennae.

If no device is connected, the app will continuously scan for available devices and display them.

Unless a device has been connected to, the Connection Screen is the only accessible part of the app.

HealthyHives app running status screen

View VDD Status

Once connected to a device, the Dashboard Screen will load, which shows the status of the device.

Status feedback depends on the position of the switch on the device, but generally includes the temperatures, humidity, and heater power level.

HealthyHives app VDD control screen

Manually Control the VDD

When the switch position is set to User Control, the app allows the user to manually operate the device.

From this screen, and only from this screen, bee protection alarms can be overridden, for example to run moth treatment at 50°C.

HealthyHives app error screen

Resolve VDD Alarms and Errors

Alarms will show up with detail on the app. If an alarm triggers, please check the alarm message in the app before resetting it.

The only alarm that usually appears is the Water Level Low alarm, which may be caused by the device being insufficiently level.

The app will provide guidance on how to resolve the alarm, and the alarm can be reset once the issue is resolved.
